Trail Safety
Common misunderstandings:
- All ATV - UTV operators born after Jan 1, 1988, must have taken the ATV safety class.
- All riders under 18 must wear a DOT helmet. Bicycle helmets are not acceptable.
- ATV’s headlights must be on at ALL times.
- Passengers are only allowed on machines sold as 2 person machines.
- ATV drivers must be at least 12 and have completed ATV safety class.
- UTV drivers must be at least 16 years old and have completed safety class.
- You may not ride on or in ditches of any state roads (numbers roads, like 70,51,47) unless specifically marked ATV route
- Any lights including whip lights, can only display white - forward and red - backwards while operating. This means any colored lights are not legal on the trail or roadway.
